We’re so excited to share our new interview with Juana Gutierrez with you today! The ancient art of natural dyeing was nearly lost among the weavers of Teotitlan Del Valle in the middle of the last century. But today it enjoying a spectacular comeback among a handful of very skilled dyers in the village. Juana is one of these dyers. She builds on knowledge passed on to her by her parents to create beautiful, lightfast colors. She graces the cover of the book True Colors and is a featured artisan in our upcoming Cochineal, Indigo and Purpura tour.
